Mr J.Brennan to Crown Agente.
Gentlemen,
4, Almedia Terrace,
S. C. R.
Kilmainham,
Dublin.
6th May,
1919.
With reference to your communication W/Hong Kong 5428 I regret unavoidable delay in answering, as I have been away from above addrea8.
I wish to inform you that I am quite willing to undergo the necessary operation, but I do not think it fair that I should have to undergo this operation in the second month of my leave, which I have earned after 6 years, besides the leg gives me no trouble, and it was found fit for active service not only in Hong Kong but also in Aldershot by the Medical Board before proceeding to France. Now if it stops me from returning to my civil employment I think it is up
to the Military Authorities to make me fit.
If there is an extension of leave to be given for this operation I might to able to make the necessary arrangements when I complete my hard earned leave.
Thanking you,
I remain, etc.,
(sd) Joseph Brennan,
